Ukraine: "We need to encourage the opposition and the government to talk"

Events in Kiev will be the heart of the meeting between the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President François Hollande, Thursday, January 30 in Paris. On the eve of this movement, the Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski gave an interview to the "World" on the situation in Ukraine, neighboring country of Poland.
Leonid Kravchuk , the first president of independent Ukraine (1991-1994) , said , Wednesday, Jan. 29 , that the country was "on the brink of civil war." Do you share this concern ?
Kravchuk his country knows better than me, but he said that we should all listen carefully. The fact that he and other former Presidents of the Republic are involved in the political process and advise both parties is a good thing. The fact that Ukrainian politics takes place again in the precincts of Parliament is also a good thing. And the fact that bad laws adopted in haste, were repealed is another positive factor.
Do you think the government's resignation and the repeal of repressive laws suffice to calm the crisis?
I do not know because I do not know how far the radicalism of some demonstrators. Another unknown to what extent the opposition can it enforce its decisions if a compromise is reached with the authorities ? This kind of situation has its own dynamics , and what may seem satisfactory one day will no longer be bound to be some hours later.
